Individual Therapy
What is individual therapy?
Individual Therapy is what most people think of when they think of therapy. Individual therapy is a confidential, personalized meeting with a trained therapist to collaboratively explore emotions, thoughts, behaviours and experiences that challenge you in an effort to create meaningful change in your life. We explore your hopes, identify strengths, and create goals that are important and sustainable to you and the life you want to live.

Common issues addressed in individual therapy
People come to therapy with problems that don’t often fit neatly into categories, and if that is you – welcome. Here are some examples of issues that I support with individual therapy. If you have questions about how I might support your specific challenges, I invite you to send me an email or book a free 15 min consultation.
- Feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally shut down
- Navigating trauma, grief (including anticipatory grief), or the impact of past experiences
- Struggling in relationships or repeating patterns you want to change
- Facing life transitions, identity shifts, or career uncertainty
- Feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward
Individual therapy benefits
Clients often report coming away from individual therapy sessions with greater clarity, more confidence to move forward with authenticity and agency, and a feeling of being more connected to themselves and people around them.
If you are in distress or worried about someone else, call or text the Canadian National Suicide Crisis Helpline at 988. If you believe your life or someone else’s life is in danger, call 911 immediately.
